Mission Statement
Our goal is to present and facilitate opportunities for every
person at Bethel to participate at some level in the Great
Commission. "Therefore
go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and
teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And
surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew
28:19-20.
Values
- We value the work of making disciples.
- We value helping individuals
at Bethel in recognizing their gifts and call into the work
of the Great Commission and nurturing
them in that process.
- We value participation in the Great Commission.
- We value
the nurturing of church planting ministries as God gives us
ability.
- We value participation in the ministry of sending and
supporting those whom God chooses to send out from us. That
is, as Andrew Fuller said, "to hold the rope" for those
who go in to rescue the lost.
Strategy
- To help our body personalize their participation in the
work of the Great Commission, recognizing that God has
given a variety of gifts and ways of ministering.
- To educate our body on the
nature of missions and the opportunities before them.
- To help
relay our missionaries’ needs and opportunities
to participate with them.
- To develop a long-term
strategy for becoming a sending church.
- To develop a strategy
for how we as a body can participate in the nurturing of
church plants that they may grow
to maturity.
